In early October this year, we travelled to Chicago for a wedding of my husband's niece, Laura to a wonderful young man, named Nathan. I took several pictures of fascinating architectural treasures of the city, the ampitheater in the Millenium Park and other sites, as we visited and went site-seeing, apart from the great time we had with the family. It was a great break from the challenges, we and those around us now face. I found Chicago fascinating. It has a great blend of the old and the new the artistic and the practical the fun and serious. Creativity and strife for perfection and perpetual improvement permeates its walls and streets. See if you can find the picture of Shakespeare's King Lear in front of the famous Chicago Tribune. Since my husband is from Chicago, this trip was very special as we visited his old neighborhood and spent time with his best friend since childhood, Andy, his wife Angie and their wonderful children Alexander and Hope. The extra bonus was, of course, having a real Chicago hot dog, and then the Super Dawg. No wonder they say Chicago deep dish pizza is the best. I thought it was better than any pizza I'd ever had in Italy or anywhere else for that matter.
